Carpet, rugs and automotive mats
CNC Carpet Cutting Machines for Rugs, Mats and Interiors
A CNC carpet cutting machine uses an oscillating or rotary knife to cut carpet, rugs, car mats and nonwoven automotive textiles from a digital drawing. It replaces hand trimming and physical templates for custom sizes, complex contours and repeat production, while vacuum hold-down keeps the pile and backing stable.

- Complex contours without templates
- Automotive mat and trim options

The production problem
Carpet moves. Templates do not solve the whole problem.
Carpet has pile, backing and sometimes a rubber or nonwoven layer. A hand knife can cut it, but the edge wanders on long runs and complex contours are difficult to repeat.
Floor mats, fitted rugs and automotive carpet parts need consistent outer dimensions and clean openings. A physical template helps, but it wears, takes storage space and is slow to revise.
A digital cutter holds the carpet under vacuum and follows the drawing. The same file produces the next mat, the next size or a revised opening without cutting a new template.
How the machine solves it
From drawing to finished part, without a die
Three decisions determine whether the process is reliable: tooling, hold-down and the workflow around the table.
Oscillating or rotary tooling
The knife is selected for pile height, backing and density. A rotary tool may suit some dense materials; an oscillating knife can handle others with a clean vertical edge.
Vacuum hold-down
The table keeps the carpet flat while the tool moves. Zoned vacuum helps when the part is smaller than the full table.
Simple repeat production
The drawing is the template. Change the size, opening or contour in CAD and cut the next part without a physical pattern.
Material fit
Materials and tooling
Tell us the exact grade, thickness and sheet or roll size. The same material name can behave differently across suppliers.
| Material | Typical parts | Recommended tooling |
|---|---|---|
| Cut-pile carpet | Rugs and floor coverings | Oscillating knife |
| Loop-pile carpet | Commercial and automotive | Material-specific knife |
| Car mat | Automotive floor mats | Oscillating or rotary knife |
| Nonwoven felt | Interior trim and insulation | Oscillating knife |
| Rubber-backed mat | Entrance and utility mats | Oscillating knife |
Typical guidance only. A sample cut is required to confirm edge quality, hold-down and the practical tolerance for your material.
Platforms and models
Choose the working area around the part, not the catalogue
Table size, feeding method and tool count matter more than a model number. We can customize the working area around your sheet or roll.

Test before deposit
Send material; receive cut parts, parameters and a priced configuration.
What the test includes
Send three pieces. Get the cut on video.
Send three A4-sized pieces of the actual material and one drawing in DXF, AI or PDF. We cut at production speed and record the tool, frequency, feed, vacuum zoning and number of passes.
You receive the cut parts by courier, a parameter sheet, a tool recommendation and one priced configuration. No deposit is required to see the test.
Decision support
Questions buyers ask
Direct answers to the questions that usually arrive before a machine specification is approved.
Can the machine cut rubber-backed carpet?
A suitable oscillating knife configuration can cut many rubber-backed materials. The backing, thickness and density should be tested before the tool and feed are fixed.
Can it cut large rugs?
Yes. Table size is selected around the largest finished part and the available floor space. A 1600 × 2500 mm or 2500 × 3000 mm platform may be appropriate.
Will the pile edge look clean?
The cut quality depends on the carpet construction and tool. A sample test is the reliable way to compare edge quality and cutting speed.
Can it cut automotive floor mats?
Yes, with the tool and material-handling setup matched to the mat construction. Send the material and drawing for a test.
Next step
Send a carpet or mat sample. We will cut the contour and check the edge.
