PET felt acoustic panels · cut, groove and punch
CNC Acoustic Panel Cutting Machines for PET Felt
A CNC acoustic panel cutting machine cuts PET felt and polyester fibre panels with an oscillating knife, then adds V-grooves and punched holes for folded, curved and suspended acoustic designs. One file replaces manual trimming and separate grooving operations, keeping panel edges clean and angles repeatable.

The production problem
An acoustic panel is a visible product. The cut has to look intentional.
PET felt acoustic panels are used in offices, studios, hotels and public interiors. The edge, groove and hole pattern are seen by the client, not hidden inside a machine.
Manual cutting produces variation in V-groove depth, angle and panel size. Separate operations add handling, and soft felt can deform when it is moved between stations.
A digital cutting table keeps the panel on one vacuum bed. The knife cuts the outline, the V-tool creates the fold line and the punch tool makes repeatable holes before the panel is removed.
How the machine solves it
From drawing to finished part, without a die
Three decisions determine whether the process is reliable: tooling, hold-down and the workflow around the table.
One-pass cutting and grooving
The cutting file includes the outline, fold lines and holes. The machine changes tools in sequence, so the panel does not lose registration between operations.
Vacuum hold-down for soft felt
The panel stays flat under zoned vacuum. That protects the outside dimensions and keeps the V-groove centred on the fold line.
Tooling for clean felt edges
High-frequency oscillating knife and sharp V-cut tooling are selected for dense PET felt and polyester fibre. The result is a clean edge rather than a torn or compressed face.
Material fit
Materials and tooling
Tell us the exact grade, thickness and sheet or roll size. The same material name can behave differently across suppliers.
| Material | Typical parts | Recommended tooling |
|---|---|---|
| PET felt | Wall and ceiling panels | Oscillating knife + V-cut |
| Polyester fibre panel | Acoustic baffles and clouds | Oscillating knife + punch |
| Recycled felt | Interior acoustic products | Oscillating knife |
| Felt with adhesive backing | Installation-ready panels | Oscillating knife, liner handling |
Typical guidance only. A sample cut is required to confirm edge quality, hold-down and the practical tolerance for your material.
Platforms and models
Choose the working area around the part, not the catalogue
Table size, feeding method and tool count matter more than a model number. We can customize the working area around your sheet or roll.

Test before deposit
Send material; receive cut parts, parameters and a priced configuration.
What the test includes
Send three pieces. Get the cut on video.
Send three A4-sized pieces of the actual material and one drawing in DXF, AI or PDF. We cut at production speed and record the tool, frequency, feed, vacuum zoning and number of passes.
You receive the cut parts by courier, a parameter sheet, a tool recommendation and one priced configuration. No deposit is required to see the test.
Decision support
Questions buyers ask
Direct answers to the questions that usually arrive before a machine specification is approved.
Can one machine cut and V-groove PET felt?
Yes. An acoustic panel configuration can carry cutting, V-grooving and punching tools. The tool sequence is defined in the cutting file.
Will the felt edge look clean?
A sharp oscillating knife and correct feed produce a clean edge on suitable PET felt. The result depends on felt density and thickness, so a sample should be tested.
Can you handle 3000 mm panels?
Yes. The published SL-F1630 configuration uses a 1600 × 3000 mm working area. Larger or custom panels are quoted around the actual material and handling plan.
Can the machine punch installation holes?
A punching tool can be included for repeatable holes. Hole size, spacing and felt density should be confirmed during the sample test.
Next step
Send a PET felt panel and your fold or groove drawing. We will return the finished sample.
