CNC Insulation and Duct Board Cutting Machines
A CNC insulation cutting machine cuts phenolic duct board, fibreglass insulation, mineral wool and similar panels with an oscillating knife, rotary tool or V-groove tool. It replaces manual templates for HVAC duct sections and insulation parts, improving repeatability while keeping dust and fibre handling part of the machine specification.

The production problem
HVAC duct sections are repeated geometry. Hand marking makes them variable.
Phenolic and fibreglass duct systems use repeated straight sections, bends and fittings. Marking and cutting each part by hand is slow and makes it difficult to keep the groove geometry consistent across operators.
Mineral wool and glass wool also create dust and fibres during cutting. The machine must handle the material safely and produce a predictable edge without compressing the insulation.
A CNC table cuts the panel to the drawing, creates the V-groove and keeps the part flat under vacuum. The cutting file becomes the template for every repeat section.
How the machine solves it
From drawing to finished part, without a die
Three decisions determine whether the process is reliable: tooling, hold-down and the workflow around the table.
V-grooves for duct folds
The V-groove tool follows the duct pattern and produces the fold geometry specified in the drawing. The groove sequence is repeatable from panel to panel.
Tools for fibrous panels
Oscillating and rotary tooling is matched to the material. The feed and blade are selected to avoid tearing and excessive compression.
Dust and fibre planning
The machine configuration includes extraction, guarding and material-handling advice appropriate to the insulation type. This is specified before order, not added after installation.
Material fit
Materials and tooling
Tell us the exact grade, thickness and sheet or roll size. The same material name can behave differently across suppliers.
| Material | Typical parts | Recommended tooling |
|---|---|---|
| Phenolic duct board | HVAC ducts and fittings | V-groove + oscillating knife |
| Fibreglass insulation | Duct and equipment insulation | Oscillating or rotary knife |
| Mineral wool | Fire and thermal insulation | Oscillating knife; dust control |
| Glass wool | Acoustic and thermal products | Rotary or oscillating knife |
Typical guidance only. A sample cut is required to confirm edge quality, hold-down and the practical tolerance for your material.
Platforms and models
Choose the working area around the part, not the catalogue
Table size, feeding method and tool count matter more than a model number. We can customize the working area around your sheet or roll.

Test before deposit
Send material; receive cut parts, parameters and a priced configuration.
What the test includes
Send three pieces. Get the cut on video.
Send three A4-sized pieces of the actual material and one drawing in DXF, AI or PDF. We cut at production speed and record the tool, frequency, feed, vacuum zoning and number of passes.
You receive the cut parts by courier, a parameter sheet, a tool recommendation and one priced configuration. No deposit is required to see the test.
Decision support
Questions buyers ask
Direct answers to the questions that usually arrive before a machine specification is approved.
Can the machine cut all insulation types?
The correct machine depends on fibre, density, binder and board thickness. Phenolic board, fibreglass and mineral wool behave differently; a sample cut and extraction plan should be confirmed before order.
Can it cut V-grooves for duct folds?
Yes. A V-groove tool can follow the duct pattern. The required groove angle and depth depend on the board and folding method.
How is dust controlled?
Dust extraction, guarding and tool selection are specified with the machine configuration. The exact setup depends on the material and factory environment.
Can you test a mineral wool sample?
Yes. Send a representative panel and the drawing. We will record the tool, feed and edge result before recommending a configuration.
Next step
Send your duct or insulation drawing. We will specify the tool and test the board.
